The Matlab field station maintains one of the world’s most comprehensive Health and Demographic Surveillance Systems (HDSS), continuously monitoring population health, demographics, and the impact of health and social interventions. The Matlab HDSS is seeking a female Surveillance Worker for field-based data collection.
Key Responsibilities

Visit households within the Matlab HDSS area to collect health, demographic, socio-economic, and other study data using tablets.

Obtain written informed consent from respondents during routine HDSS data collection.

Participate in bi-monthly meetings with the supervisor to discuss field challenges and solutions.

Update HDSS events in the Census Volume at the Matlab Office.

Conduct pregnancy tests for eligible women and maintain accurate records.

Distribute ORS and Zinc tablets to community members and maintain relevant logs.
Required Qualifications

Education: HSC or equivalent.

Experience: At least 1 year of field research and data collection experience, preferably with tablet-based tools.

Knowledge of primary healthcare and experience performing pregnancy tests will be an added advantage.

Contract Type & Duration

CSA basis for 11 months, with possible extension based on performance and funding.
Salary & Benefits

Monthly salary: Tk 24,340 (including house rent and conveyance).

Festival bonus, income tax paid by ICDDR,B, and access to subsidized canteen facilities.
