    • One-year duration: A grant between $2,500 and $8,000, applied to tuition fees in the first year.

    • Three-year funding: Between $2,500 and $15,000, with up to $8,000 available in the first year, $4,000 in the second year, and a limit of $3,000 in the third year.

Eligibility Criteria for University of Waikato Scholarships

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must:

  • Apply for full-time enrollment in an undergraduate or postgraduate program as a new international student at the University of Waikato.
  • Have received either a conditional or unconditional offer from the University of Waikato, including a pathway offer leading to a degree. This may include a Certificate of Attainment in English Language, Foundation Studies, or University Preparation. Eligible pathway programs include:
    • International Diploma in Business
    • International Diploma in Computer Science
    • Diploma of Postgraduate Preparation (Pre-Masters) at the University of Waikato

Additional requirements:

  • Maintain a minimum GPA equivalent to B+ in their previous qualification used for university admission.
  • Must not already be enrolled at the University of Waikato in any undergraduate or postgraduate program. Additionally, applicants should not have paid any fees before applying.
  • Should not be attending the University of Waikato through a sponsoring organization, a Guaranteed Credit Arrangement, a study abroad program, or a student exchange agreement.
